This class will explore freeform knitting and extreme blocking. We use a photo as inspiration and knit a swatch about 15cm2 using a variety of yarns and needles of various weights and sizes. We will aggressively block the swatch to about 30 cm2. Stitches used include I-cord cast on, garter tab cast on, increases, wrap and turn, intarsia, decreases, and I-cord edging. We will frame the dried and blocked swatch for display.

What students need to bring: Needles of various sizes: 5mm to 9mm; cable length: 35cm to 55cm, interchangeable or fixed circular needles. Participants will be able to buy yarn in Þingborg Woolshop. Bring your own lunch or lunch to share.

Preparation for workshop: This workshop is for advanced knitters. Not for beginners.
