Námskeið er kennt ensku. – Workshop in English.

Spend the morning weaving in a guided round-robin format, rotating through a circle of prepared looms. Each loom will feature a different setup, allowing you to explore a variety of weave structures, textures, and patterning techniques.

You will experiment with:

• different weave structures and pattern effects
• woven shibori techniques designed specifically for resist dyeing
• playful use of color and material combinations

Participants will create a series of woven samples at each station, building a small personal “library” of cloth to inspire future projects. Looms will be pre-warped and ready to weave, so you can spend your time making, exploring, and learning rather than worrying about setup.

All woven samples created in the workshop will be able to be dyed in the indigo vat during the afternoon Walk in Indigo Dyeing session.

What students need to bring: No need to bring anything. Students may bring their own yarns to try if they like, but all materials will be provided.

Preparation for workshop: Suitable for all levels, no weaving or textile experience required.

What’s included in the fee: All weaving materials for the workshop are included, looms are set up.
