Námskeið er kennt á ensku. – Workshop in English.

Learn to create beautiful art yarns! Techniques taught include lockspinning, tailspinning, plying coils, chain plying, corespinning, and more. We will do drumcarding techniques and spinning from a batt. Students will have time to spin multiple yarns in this full day workshop. Multiple washed fiber types will be provided for students to experience.

What students need to bring: Working spinning wheel (ideally with a large orifice), e spinners are fine; any fiber/wool to spin (in addition to what will be supplied), yarn to ply with (weaving cones, novelty yarn, crochet yarn…). Optional: drum carder. (If you need to borrow a spinning wheel send an email to info@ullarvikan.is after booking the workshop and we will provide one for you, limited number available)
